City of Wheaton “Christmas Sharing Week” — 2024 Proclamation

From the office of the Mayor of the City of Wheaton comes the following proclamation . . .
WHEREAS, Christmas Sharing, which began in 1969, is a community-based all-volunteer charitable organization serving families within the boundaries of Wheaton-Warrenville Community Unit School District #200; and
WHEREAS, 55 years of thoughtfulness and compassion continues today through Christmas Sharing by serving over 750 families with the mission of making Christmas more joyful for those in need; and
WHEREAS, Christmas Sharing this year will partner with Community Unit School District #200, Wheaton Park District, the Wheaton Public Library, seven Wheaton and Warrenville area churches and local businesses: and
WHEREAS, these community partnerships and the many volunteers are a valuable part of the Christmas Sharing program to provide families with fresh food, produce, gift cards, non-food items, diapers, new coats and more through drive-through and in-person distributions.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Wheaton hereby proclaims December 12 and December 13, 2025 as “Christmas Sharing Weekend” in Wheaton, to bring awareness that contributions made during this season of giving will help make the Christmas season merrier for families who are less fortunate.

City of Warrenville “Christmas Sharing Weekend” — 2025 Proclamation

From the office of the Mayor of the City of Warrenville comes the following proclamation . . .
WHEREAS, Christmas Sharing, now in its 56th year, is a community-based organization serving families within the boundaries of Wheaton-Warrenville Community Unit School District 200; and
WHEREAS, Christmas Sharing, made up of a committee of seven churches, serves over 750 families in the District 200 area with the mission of making Christmas more joyful for those in need; and
WHEREAS, Community Baptist and Hope Community churches serve over 200 families and continue to do so due to the support of other churches and organizations here in Warrenville; and
WHEREAS, Schools, churches, businesses, and other organizations within the District collect funds and items for distribution to families in a simplified drive through style: and
WHEREAS, All donations of winter coats and toys go directly to families in need; and
WHEREAS, Monetary donations allow the organization to provide food and gift cards to families as well; and
NOW, THEREFORE be it resolved that I, Andrew Johnson, Mayor of the City of Warrenville, proclaim December 12–13, 2025, as “Christmas Sharing Weekend” in Warrenville, to bring awareness that contributions made during this season of giving will help make the holiday season merrier for families who are less fortunate.
